Oversleeping

words and music by Erik Brandon

I've been oversleeping
Since you've been sleeping over
I just can't seem to get out of bed
When you're there

The sunrise seems familiar
But still it seems ignorable
And horribly not what I'd call fair

It's too hard concentrating
On trading in these consciences
For something we'd be able to put to good use

I've never been discrete
But I'll try and keep it secret-like
And cover all the glaring clues

Like when we laugh too long for reasons that no one can surmise
Or when we loiter around the fax machine that nobody likes to use
If they don't have to
Or when we smile, wink and yawn at the very same time

I've been oversleeping
Since you've been sleeping over
I just can't seem to get out of bed
When you're there

The sunrise seems familiar
But still it seems ignorable
And horribly not what I'd call fair

It's too hard concentrating
On trading in these consciences
For something we'd be able to put to good use

I've never been discrete
But I'll try and keep it secret-like
And cover all the glaring clues
