UPS

words and music by Erik Brandon

The kids are on their own tonight
These letters have to leave our hands today
They might not talk to us
And hopefully they'll start it right away
Cuz I could use the time
To think up all the things I have to say
My friend at UPS said "Yes"
When I said, "Will you help us out?"
I called him up today
He said, "I don't know what you're talking about"
Could be that he forgot
Or maybe he got caught and got found out

I know if it was me
I'd place a little higher price on secrecy
Cuz every wall's got ears my dear, so keep it down
And as we all know, good news quickly gets around

And round and round she goes
And where she stops nobody knows for sure
She'll keep on circling
Until she's sure nobody's following her
Nobody's ever there
But she could swear to God that they just were
Those satellites up in the sky
Can track your every single move
Those secret implants in your cavities
Start make you thinking that
You've begun to lose your mind
Cuz every fact you find, you just can't prove

I know if it was me
A little tiny government conspiracy
Would make me think a time or two on who belongs
And just because you're paranoid, don't mean you're wrong

But it might let 'em know
That you couldn't have acted alone
All the rest had the good sense to flat out deny
That the only thing that's left to do is kiss your kids goodbye

The kids are on their own tonight
These letters have to leave our hands today
They might not talk to us
And hopefully they'll start it right away
Cuz I could use the time
To think up all the things I have to say

I know if it was me
I'd place a little higher price on secrecy
Cuz every wall's got ears my dear, so keep it down
And as we all know, good news quickly gets around
